Well, that's just tough about leggings. I have about 10-15 pairs in all colors, and they look GREAT on me, because I have very long legs and rounded calves– my legs are and have always been my best physical feature, and since no one wants to see a 63 yr old in a miniskirt, I wear leggings! And yeah, sometimes I wear them as tights, with ankle boots, because I've discovered that a skirt + leggings as tights keeps me warmer so I don't have to run the furnace so much. I ALWAYS get complimented when I wear one of those outfits.
How about black tights with shorter skirts or dresses? Opaque or sheer?
I have recently swapped all my skinny jeans for wide leg and boot cut jeans and I really like them (second time around) I always felt great in skinnies as my legs are very slim but have rediscovered a new style. However one has to rethink all the tops which in the past were all long ones so nice I’m going to shorten some once I’ve discovered the optimum length by trying on etc.
Wow! Love your haircut.❤
Hoodies…
I must say that I enjoy your videos Marie-Anne. I rather live by the motto "That not every idea is a good idea" and I'm glad to see we agree on that 🙂 At age 73 I've recently discovered that I have become the incredible shrinking woman. Where I was 5'4" at one time I'm now 5'2" and am finding it difficult to purchase modern sophisticated pieces that don't make me look like I shop in the children's department. Can you suggest a few casual but classy pieces for the more diminutive woman (who may want some coverage around the lower hip and stomach areas. ( I'm personally over wearing tunic tops as a solution ). Many thanks for all of your videos and tips. Please keep up the good work. We do appreciate your input. Merci
I’m happy to have found your channel! today! I enjoy learning from you and I enjoy your wonderful sense of humor too!! Thank you!! I will keep watching and most likely subscribe as well!
You better have a nice tush and legs if you’re going to wear leg hugging pants of any kind. It may be in style but if it doesn’t look good on you the look is lost.
Skinnny jeans is actually coming back!
The autumn/winter 2024 runways featured skinny jeans from Miu Miu, Balenciaga, and Alexander McQueen. Miuccia Prada's show included two pairs of skinnies, while Miu Miu's low-waisted, leg-hugging styles were paired with faux fur coats and extra denim.
If you live in a climate with a lot of rain, skinny jeans are best in the winter because you can tuck them into boots. Wide leg jeans soak up the rain, so although I love the wide leg jean look, I won't throw out my skinny jeans. What one wears often does depend on the weather!
Bring back 501 low rise jeans

Skinny jeans need to go.
I love Marie-
Anne's shirt. So hard to find shirts with covered buttons.
Marie-Anne love your posts many people follow trends because they think they are keeping up with fashion but unfortunately they look terrible I try not to do this and always have compliments on my appearance I like your style and I am 60 also
I keep saying, "Leggings are not pants!!!"
Your videos are spot on! I was lucky enough to go to Paris over the summer and I used your tips for dressing. All the tips were perfect! Linen pants are now a favorite! The consistent focus on being elegant is exactly what ladies need no matter their age! Bravo!
I love your ideas❤
I have no bootie at all. Honestly, my waist and butt are the same measurement. It’s very ugly and makes it almost impossible to find flattering pants. So, absolutely no baggy jeans for me.
I love wide-leg pants. It’s what I grew up wearing. I love your channel. Merci beaucoup ❤️
I've worn boot cut and slim straight jeans forever, never thinking skinny jeans flattering on most body types.
It's all about the SHADE of pink, not the color pink. No baby pink, super pastel, Barbie pink, shocking pink for me!
I detest leggings. Everyone wears them everywhere! Light pink is for babies and not ladies.
Being a short person who is also busty; I prefer trim looking clothes to include pants. I despise wide leg jeans (to much fabric) how to find a compromise?
To much talking
To long.
Most wide legged pants DO look sloppy. Even more seriously, they are tripping HAZARDS. Even with heels – maybe especially with heels!!
Men would never tolerate this ridiculousness!! Huge-legged pants truly don’t flatter petite women at all. Actually, none of the “trending” oversized clothing styles flatter any one!!!!
Neither do the clunky, heavy, super-thick soled “man shoes” being pushed on women do anything positive for ANYONE. Don’t they know how to feature beautiful, feminine shoes with reasonable heels without 4-5 inch stilettos?! I guess not. Don’t the male designers know the vast majority of women who wear heels don’t want to be heading for bunion and/or hammer toe surgery????!!!
Also – I say it’s time to abolish the childish-looking and unflattering Bo-Ho styles. Enough of the ruffles on every shoulder and miles of multi-tiered flounces on every dress and top. How about a return to beautiful elegance and looking chic ?!?! It might be a forgotten art for most of today’s “designers.”
Eu rindo sozinha . Vi o vidéo de Marie Anne e pensei , que bom ela esta fazendo o vidéo inteiramente em frances ! Ai meu cérebro imediatamente falou , não é o português , sua anta ! Sou brasileira morando na França ha 25 anos .
Wide leg jeans make everyone look wide and sloppy! I hate them! Especially if you have short legs.
I don't like wide leg jeans on me. I am 5 foot tall and they make me look HORRIBLE!! So no I will not wear those jeans. You look tall and skinny so go for it.
I never liked leggings either. Wool tights hide more. That is what I like to wear in the winter.
Love the wine color
Was ist das denn?! Das kann nur KI sein! So etwas schaue ich mir nicht länger an!
Skinny jeans have been out for the past several years…. This is not news
But, as a Kibbe Dramatic, I need to stay with straight jeans or small bootcut.
I appreciate the work that went into this! To summarize, cheap and tacky is out; ladylike and classy is in. I‘ll try to wear my leggings only with dresses and boots. Much as I love pink, my shopping in the future will be pink/peach in the warm months, and burgundy in the cooler months. No hard and fast rules, just a reminder to go ladylike and classy.
Beautiful and wise ❤
Im also not a fan of pink. It looks sort of babyish? I do like pale blue, like in a simple sheath dress. Great for summer.
I had no idea just HOW UNFASHIONABLE I am. I hate skinny jeans, leggings are for working out or under some winter dresses, I just don't wear pink much, cargo skirts were a thing?, cropped tops -like jeggings – are for a certain sort of person (not me), and boxy blazers make me think of "Annie Hall". I'll just get back under my rock now.
Never liked skinny jeans and always had one or two pairs of straight trousers in my wardrobe: They are more comfy and you can roll them up on warm days.
Bordeaux insteat of pink?????No way!
0:26 you look so good for your age.❤
With all the shops shutting it is difficult to find decent clothes.
Me too
Love the wide leg jeans.
I still wear pink. Helps me stay feminine imo
Thank you!
I’ve never even seen a cargo skirt before. Yuk.
I am tall and winter dresses are always too short so I wear them with narrow jeans and leggings and will continue to do so !! Sorry !
You are discounting people like me who have long torsos and short legs. We look like a kite in wide leg pants. Not for me ever!!
Thank you for all the fashion information!
I totally agree with you about skin-tight jeans and leggings. However, leggings can be worn in a stylish way. More specifically with a tall pair of boots with thick heels up to 5 cm tall, and a long light sweater or a long blazer or a mini A-style dress. What do you think?
The only piece of attire that is totally trash is the skin-tight jeans.
Finally. Hallelujah I celebrate the end of the crop top!
I am in my mid 30s, thanks for video, keeps me updated.
I never bought into any of those trends. I prefer the timeless look that you show us.
Wide leg jeans and even those wide leg trousers flatter only model figures, 5 8 or taller and stick thin. Straight legs work better on a wider variety of body shapes.
Hello, I love your videos…I am 5'2", & sometimes wide leg slacks make me look shorter…not completely sure though.. definitely no skinny jeans ?
Oh, question…do pastel colots, i.e. peach, yellow, mustard make you look older?
Yes, oversized blazers are definitely a no no for petite short gals…
I really don't like burgundy. I'm not sure it suits any ladies of a certain age. Nil points from me!!
I used to tell my sister that people were stuffed in those jeans like sausages. I hate any jeans with elastic in their material. Finally, someone has acknowledged my observation.
Not pleasant to go for coffee and have a woman with her rear and chest left nothing to the imagination, they may get initials looks but long thoughts
I am loving these trends. 🙂
No voy a echar de menos ninguna!!
I love your site. I live in America and I love the French Chic woman’s style especially for women in their 50’s.
Thank thank you for your site.
I so agree with leggings! If your gynecologist can recognize you, they are too tight!
I do not want to wear wide leg pants.
J'adore
Agreed on all, but what I want to see disappear concerning "shape" are the lazy, boring and ill-fitting dropped shoulders. I want to find well-cut shoulder lines again.
Wide leg jeans and long skirts look ridiculous on petite women or at least this one. Let's see a pair on a woman that is 5 feet tall or less. Wearing what I want and can afford and I think looks good on me to include colors. The burgundy looks more like a plum which is a lot better than burgundy,
I am 5,
It amazing how many 'stuffed sausages ' I see out and about. Who wants to look like that. But their thought process is: If it fits its good. NOT. At the 2:20 mark: I saw another type of pants that were so thin I could see every wrinkle, dimple and OUTLINE of this women's body. What on earth???? Plus it was a very light color so there you have transparency.
I have donated so many clothes since I retired 2 years ago. I don't need all those dresses. I want to dress timeless classics. Otherwise, I look like silly as if I stole from my teenager's closet.
I like pink! I'm 64 years old. Pink is such an underrated color, it's calming and invigorating all at the same time. Like a cup of tea.
Je suis très pulpeuse, et je porte des jeans coupe droite taille haute et j'aime les pantalons tailleurs. vous avez toujours des bons conseils que je mets en pratique. Merci.
